In recent decades, the topic of Islamism has been studied in France, Germany, Great Britain, and the United States predominantly with a view to threats and security risks for the majority society. How Muslim communities position and organize themselves in response to Islamism in Western societies remains a marginal topic in public and academic debates.
With the DeZIM-WEBINAR SERIES 2021, the junior research group "Deutscher Islam" invites you to discuss current developments of "national Islams" and their transformation processes in "Western societies" under the moderation of Dr. Özgür Özvatan on December 02, 09 and 16, 2021, both from 4-6 pm (CET).
Participation is free of charge here and possible digitally here (password for the Zoom session: 267279).
