The first part of the event will be held in English, followed by a German-language session from 13:45.
We warmly invite you to join us at the digital RADIS symposium “Interactions and Transformation Processes in the Field of Islamism”.
In a compact two-hour format, we will provide insights into key findings and theoretical perspectives of the edited volume “Islamism as a Societal Challenge: Causes, Consequences, Strategic Responses” (Abdellah et al., 2025) and open the floor for further discussion and ideas. The focus will be in particular on the question of how processes of (co-)radicalisation unfold and what effects global and national dynamics have on them. We look forward to comparing international perspectives.
Following the international symposium, a German-language follow-up session (13:45 - 14:45) will provide an opportunity to reflect on the discussed findings in the context of the German research landscape and to explore implications for future research in Germany.

If you would like to take a sneak peek at the book, have a look at the executive summaries in different languages. The full English-language translation of the volume is currently in preparation and is expected to be published later this year. We hope that these materials may be of interest to you and your networks. Please feel free to share them with colleagues who work in the fields of extremism, Islamism, prevention, or related areas.
